What a difference a year makes

A year ago this evening many of Cameron’s family and one of his tutors were at The Connaught Rooms in London at the British Book Design and Publication Awards, where Cam’s Roulette project had been nominated for Best Student Book.

It was an emotional, bittersweet but special evening full of pride at another one of Cam’s achievements, which was handled sensitively by the BBDP. We whooped and cheered loudly for Cam’s Paralysed by Perfectionism project, which was highly commended.

During the evening we had a tentative conversation about setting up a charity in Cam’s name.

Fast-forward a year and we not only have started a charity driven by Cam’s values, but today we had our sixth and final presentation introducing The Cameron Day Charitable Trust to universities in the East Midlands, and inviting them to be a part of our mission to support creative young people — rewarding determination and a Cam-do attitude, and celebrating creative excellence in Graphic Design.

We are absolutely delighted to have been able to share Cam’s story, his work and our plans for The CDCT with De Montfort University, the University of Derby, the University of Lincoln, Loughborough University, Nottingham Trent University and the University of Northampton.

In the coming weeks we will be updating our website and releasing more information about upcoming exciting projects and collaborations with all six universities.

Once again, thank you so much to everyone who has supported The CDCT so far, we couldn’t have done any of this without you.
