Bo Brindle
Nottingham Trent University
CDCT Grant Recipient 2024/25
Bo was nominated for a CDCT Grant by his tutors due to positive, Cam-do attitude and commitment to his studies from day one, alongside the ambition and hope of connecting people and making a positive impact on society as a whole. He was deservedly awarded £500 from The CDCT.
At the time of receiving The CDCT Grant in January 2025, Bo was a third year Graphic Design student studying at Nottingham Trent University.
‘Bo is aware of the potential of the subject to change, educate and inform audiences, and it has been a joy and a privilege witnessing him using his knowledge and skills in this way. This is evident in his course work but what has really impressed us too is his extra-curricular participation with community groups. One of his projects was the organisation of a group of designers/artists/illustrators and the creation of opportunities for them to get together to create posters that are shared and distributed throughout Nottingham with the aim of keeping the current situation in Gaza in the public domain. This body of work is now the subject of a final year self-initiated project collating the speeches, artworks and activities of the community group and will be testament to this young designer who cares passionately about injustice and strives to use his practice to make a difference.’

Bo is so grateful to have been recognised by his tutors and The CDCT with a Grant, and plans to use it to publish an editorial on his Posters for Palestine work, and continue to help support up-and-coming musicians with accessible design. ’The support would give me the room to fully invest in the things that matter most to me: creating work that connects people, tells important stories, and celebrates the power of design to make a difference.’
