Luke Jackson
University of Derby
CDCT Grant Recipient 2024/25
Luke was nominated for a CDCT Grant by his tutors due to his positive attitude, his willingness to help others and his determination — truly epitomising the Cam-do spirit. He was deservedly awarded £500 from The CDCT.
At the time of receiving The CDCT Grant in January 2025, Luke was a third year part-time Graphic Design student studying at the University of Derby.
‘As a mature and part-time student, Luke is also an Accident and Emergency nurse and is flown into hospitals at short notice to fulfill gaps in cover at A&E, at over 32 x hospitals (and counting) all over the country. Luke's work is at a very high level creatively and he is always seen early in the studio helping other students. He is an extremely engaging and committed person and it is a pleasure to work with him. In his spare time Luke is an avid practioner of martial arts, and as part of his university work he is forming a campaign to encourage individuals with disability to consider taking up martial arts as a means of raising their self esteem. He also works within the University with the Creative Agency as Lead Designer and liaises with staff and clients to realise live briefs and internal design jobs. ’
