Rebecca Phipps

Loughborough University
CDCT Grant Recipient 2022/23

Rebecca was nominated due to her Cam-do attitude – with her hard work and dedication to her studies throughout her degree alongside her support to others. She was awarded £500 from The CDCT in January 2023.

At the time of receiving The CDCT Grant, Rebecca was a final year Graphic Design student studying at Loughborough University.

‘Rebecca has impressed the staff team here at Loughborough since her first year with us. She has proven herself to be one of the most hard-working and dedicated students we have ever known; her work ethic is unparalleled. As well as an inventive and playful approach to projects, she is ambitious and attempts outcomes outside of her comfort zone. She is a talented designer and her work crops up as an example of excellent practice in every module she completes. We have also nominated Rebecca because of the supportive role she plays with her coursemates. Rebecca has encouraged students with anxiety to attend classes and has accompanied them into the studio when they are too anxious to attend alone. Her positive influence has been huge for those students. Outside of university, Rebecca has been leading a girl-guide group in addition to her course commitments.’
Rhiannon Payne, Lecturer

Rebecca’s passion for design lies in finding solutions for real-world challenges that affect people’s lives. The Grant will help her realise her dream of working in the charity sector, as she looks for jobs after completing her studies.
