Maria focused on raising awareness of stroke symptoms for a younger target audience whose parents or grandparents might be at risk of a stroke, and solve the inadequacies of stroke awareness. Maria created a typeface which mimics some how stroke survivors might see letters as shapes.

Johnson Banks said this project was a really thoughtful piece of work digging deep into what happens to stroke survivors, and how to communicate that in a way that stands apart from typical NHS communications.
